House Call Vet

Sometimes there’s just no place like home.

No matter how friendly and welcoming our vet centres are, we realise that for some animals meeting new people in an unfamiliar environment can be stressful. At MustCare, our aim is to deliver the best care possible at all times, no matter where it takes place.

Whether it’s a routine vaccination or a complete examination, pets often handle house calls much better than a trip to the vet. They are in familiar surroundings, have access to their favourite treats, and are surrounded by family members who love them very much. If we were getting treatment, that’s where we’d want to be!

The benefits of house calls

  • Avoid a stressful car trip with your fur baby if they are sick or in pain
  • Access expert care even if you don’t have transport or are unable to. leave your home
  • Your precious pet can be examined in the comfort of their own kennel
  • The veterinarian can assess home environment factors while they are there

FAQs

At MustCare, we’ll do our best to work around your schedule.

If you’re running late for an appointment when we start our examination, your furry friend will pick up on your anxiety and that isn’t good for anyone. We realise that a large part of providing care is making sure the patient, and the owner, are comfortable.

Have your pet’s medical records at hand and try to write down the events surrounding the illness or injury. This information may be extremely useful for helping your veterinarian successfully diagnose and treat your precious pet.

If possible, find a smaller space in your home for the appointment to take place. This will make it easier to restrain your pet if necessary, and will also limit outside stimuli.

Even if your pet is usually very calm, an injury coupled with the stress of a stranger entering your home can make them react aggressively. If this happens, our veterinarians are trained to handle animals safely. This may require the owner to muzzle their dog, or feed them the ‘calming medication’ to help with settling your fur baby.

Yes, euthanasia is one of the most vital house call services we provide. Letting go of your fur baby is an incredibly difficult moment and you want them to be as relaxed as possible. We find that being in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their family, is often the most peaceful way for beloved pets to say goodbye.

Does your furry friend seem sick or in pain? This could be a sign that something is wrong. If you can’t make it to your nearest centre, don’t worry!

We can still help. Get in touch to organise a house call so we can figure out what’s got your cat’s tongue.
