Blue Paw Adoption Day is a family fun day event hosted by Acacia Ridge Pet Resort, held to raise much needed awareness and funds for the many and varied pet rescue groups in Brisbane.

Acacia Ridge Pet Resort have offered boarding to rescue dogs for various groups for quite a few years now and saw a huge increase in 2015 in the number of dogs requiring accommodation at the pet resort for many different reasons. The resort developed great relationships with coordinators / founders of the rescue groups and work closely with them to help find the dogs in their care a foster home before finally securing them a furever home!

The resort has worked closely with Cathy, from Above and Beyond Dog Training and Rehabilitation in conjunction with their rescue group to assist dogs with some major behavioural issues, including dogs that were also facing euthanasia and were successfully rehabilitated, fostered and eventually adopted!

A Facebook page has been created ‘Rescue Dogs Needing Foster Care Brisbane’ specifically to post photos of the dogs in care for the rescue groups to utilise to assist with advertising to locate foster homes for the dogs.

Abbey and Darrin Suter, owners of Acacia Ridge Pet Resort, are passionate about supporting the rescue groups and wanted to take it a step further to help place some of these dogs into homes and that is how the Blue Paw Adoption Day came about!
